Sunday Night Football: How to Watch Steelers vs Cowboys

By Entertainment Serial 6 Min Read

The 2-2 Cowboys take on the 3-1 Steelers on Sunday night. The Steelers vs Cowboys strong start to the season is largely the result of their vaunted defense, led by T.J. Watt. The Cowboys will need to give Dak Prescott enough time to throw and find CeeDee Lamb for big plays. On the flip side, the Dallas defense, led by Micah Parsons, will need to find a way to contain quarterback Justin Fields, who has been steady in place of Russell Wilson and is particularly dangerous when he escapes the pocket and looks to run.

The Cowboys-Steelers game kicks off tonight at 8:20 p.m. ET (5:20 p.m. PT). It’s available to watch nationally on NBC or stream on Peacock.

A familiar refrain surrounding the Dallas Cowboys over the past few seasons is that Dak Prescott is a stat monster that can’t get the job done in the win column in Dallas. Prescott is third in the league in passing yards for the 2-2 Cowboys and while the offense has been moving the ball through the air, it’s the defense that has gotten the bulk of the negative headlines in this early part of the year. While Dallas only allowed 26 rushing yards to the Giants, the team still ranks near the bottom of the NFL in rush defense and will be without interior lineman Demarcus Lawrence for at least a month due to a foot injury.

That could be a good combination for the 3-1 Steelers, who boast an offense that’s in the top-10 in the league in rushing and is committed to the ground game with quarterback Justin Fields still finding his footing. Russell Wilson is nearing a return from a calf injury, but with a dominant defense — second in points allowed, fourth in yards allowed — Mike Tomlin may just need a game manager on offense to jump out to 4-1 and an early lead in the AFC North over the surging Baltimore Ravens.

How to watch Cowboys vs Steelers

For tonight’s game in Pittsburgh and the rest of the Sunday Night Football schedule, you can watch your local NBC station with a cable or satellite TV subscription or with an over-the-air antenna. Most live TV streaming services such as YouTube TV and Hulu Plus Live TV also carry your local NBC station (see below).

If you don’t subscribe to a TV service with NBC and want to watch this game and the Sunday night slate this fall, you can sign up for Peacock Premium for $8 per month.

You can also subscribe to NFL Plus, the NFL’s own streaming service at $7 per month, but streams are limited to just watching on a phone or tablet (not a TV).

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys games will have to wait as both teams announced the start time has been delayed due to inclement weather. As thunderous storms cover Acrisure Stadium, both teams have headed indoors and fans have been sent to find cover.

The Sunday Night Football matchup was set to begin at 8:25 P.M. ET, just as storms rolled in. Dark clouds covered the Pittsburgh North Shore for most of the evening, with the expectation it was going to downpour near kickoff. Once lightning was evident and within close proximity of the stadium, the clubs were forced to leave the field until the weather passed.

Storms are expected to remain in the area until roughly 9 P.M. ET.

The Steelers enter the game 3-1 coming off a loss to the Indianapolis Colts. With Justin Fields under center, Pittsburgh will host their second home game of the season, with their first being a win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3. Dallas is 2-2 coming off a win over the New York Giants.

This is a developing story. Steelers On SI will continue to provide updates, including the next expected start time, once more information becomes available.
