In light of the critical situation that El Taiger is experiencing, as he is hospitalized after being shot in the head, many of his followers are playing his songs as a form of support. And upon listening to his songs, several people have been unable to avoid comparing the song “El Sano” with what has happened to him in real life.
The TikTok user @doris.hernandez618 shared her analysis on the platform, which has gone viral among fans of José Manuel Carvajal. In her interpretation, she suggests that the visual elements and the lyrics of the music video might have predicted the recent events in the singer’s life.

In the video, the TikToker points out that in the music video for “El Sano,” a drawing of a skull appears suddenly, right where El Taiger was injured. She also highlights the presence of Halloween decorations, which coincides with the fact that the shooting occurred in October. Another symbolic detail she mentions is the appearance of clouds, which she associates with Hurricane Milton.
Doris Hernández is not the only one who has noticed these similarities. Yotuel Romero also dedicated a few words to the singer, referring to the song.
The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. when officers responded to reports of a man shot in the head inside a black Mercedes SUV near NW 17th St. 10 Ave.
First responders rushed El Taiger to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he was placed on life support.
Before going to the hospital, manager Macel Reinosa told CBS News Miami that there is a person of interest, someone who he said knows the artist and the person allegedly called 9-1-1.
“Nobody in the team believes that he committed suicide, based on what they are saying on the bullet,” Reinosa said. It was in the front of his head so I would really doubt someone would shoot himself and then get on the back of the trunk by himself.”
Messages of support have poured out from musicians and industry executives as Cuban Reggeaton singer El Taiger fights for his life after being found with a gunshot wound to his forehead in Miami, in circumstances police are still trying to parse.
It was around 6:45 a.m. Thursday when Miami police said they found the 37-year-old artist, born José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, unresponsive in the back of an SUV near Northwest 9th Avenue and 17th Street.
He was hospitalized at nearby Jackson Memorial Hospital, where Carlos Alfaro, a representative for the singer, said a surgeon told him that Taiger suffered significant damage to his brain and remained connected to machines.
Though police have not said definitively if the wound was self-inflicted or fired at Taiger, Miami police spokesperson Mike Vega told NBC6 on Thursday night that there was no evidence that the shot was fired inside the car.
“People dressed as doctors are also seen, and even El Taiger appears wearing an oxygen mask,” comments the Cuban, who has pointed out these coincidences as significant.
“Our officers are investigating, because we think this didn’t happen in the city of Miami. We’re sure that it didn’t happen in that corner where the vehicle was found. This happened in another place; someone brought him here, left him and left on foot,” Vega said in Spanish.
El Taiger was found in the third row of the SUV, and first responders had to open the trunk to get him out. Authorities also noted that video showed two gallons of gasoline there.
There are currently no suspects in custody, though police did interview a person of interest in the investigation.
On Friday, City of Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales told reporters that the 37-year-old man remains hospitalized.
We’re confident that we’ll get to the bottom of this and solve this incident,” he said. “It is a tragic incident that has shaken our local South Florida community.”
Morales said that detectives are working arduously to gather more evidence and are not identifying suspects now. He also said they know who the owner of the SUV that El Taiger was found, but they are not ready to identify them now.
Morales also said that though there are some circumstances and details of the incident that police are aware of, they are not ready to divulge further details because they do not want to risk the investigation’s integrity.
“If we determine that the case is criminal in nature, then we don’t want to risk our ability to prosecute those who are responsible, bring them to justice and bring any type of justice to the family or the victim,” he said.
“Unbeknownst to you, sadly, El Sano today resonates like an echo of what you were living, as if in each verse you had traced the path that, unknowingly, you would walk. Countryman killed countryman,” said the Cuban singer. “You warned about the betrayal of those who are closest, and now those words have become a painful omen. You sang of the pain of betrayal, of falsehood and the weight of vices that destroy friendships, and today everything sounds like a premonition,” he added.
At one point in the song, El Taiger sings: “Don’t talk to me about friendship because countryman killed countryman.”
Morales said since the police is still very early into the investigation, anyone with information should call (305) 579-6111 or (305) 471-TIPS (8477) to help with the case.
El Taiger is well-known in the Latin music scene, particularly for his contributions to reggaeton, a genre that blends Caribbean rhythms with urban beats.
Alexander Delgado and Randy Malcom Martínez, of Gente de Zona
“This is a suckerpunch not [just] to me, to all the Cubans that listen to his music, to all his friends and to the whole genre,” Alexander Delgado, half of the Latin Grammy-winning duo Gente de Zona said outside JMH. “When there’s a situation like this, all we need is support. That’s it. I’ve seen lots of people on social media without knowledge of what’s happening speculating. No one knows anything… Let’s pray so that they’re able to save his life.”
“I’m here, waiting for him, and he knows it,” Randy Malcom Martínez, also of Gente de Zona, said outside the hospital. “We’ve had a relationship for years. We’re not talking about a new friendship… We have to wait and see what’s going to happen.”
Jacob Forever
“I’m at a loss, it leaves me without words. I feel like I can’t breathe, but I have faith in God,” the Cuban artist said outside JMH. “They won’t tell us exactly what state he’s in, because there isn’t an authorized family member here, so we’re in even more uncertainty.”
El Micha
The Cuban reggaeton artist kept his comments brief outside the hospital.
“We’re here to support the brother, like always,” he said.
DJ Conds
“I’m DJ Conds, the main producer for El Taiger. We’re here at the hospital, to see what happened. We’re all suffering,” he said. “It’s a blow–we’re still processing what’s happening, and we don’t have much information… but we’re all devastated.”
Nelson Martinez, friend and former manager
Nelson Martinez’s voice wavered as he discussed the shooting outside JMH.
“He had a lot of gold. He had over $100,000 worth of jewelry on,” he said. “Any other thing you hear on the internet is false. That he shot himself–it didn’t happen like that. Police are investigating right now. We’re letting them do their work.”
“Everybody’s hurting,” Martinez continued. “He has a lot of friends. He’s a great guy.”
Greg Chonillo, attorney
An attorney for El Taiger spoke to Telemundo 51 about the circumstances of the shooting.
He said there was “certain evidence that could suggest that there was another person with him.”
Sashira, friend
“He’s someone who’s always there for everyone, a person who really doesn’t get into trouble. All of this is just social media stuff that everyone does, but yes, we are in shock. We are in shock because he’s not a person who deserves any of this, at all,” she said in Spanish. “The only thing we ask of people is to pray, pray a lot, so that he can survive this.”
Kevin Eiroa, A&R at OneRPM
Kevin Eiroa, A&R at OneRPM, the record label that El Taiger is signed to, offered his well wishes and praised the artist’s success, calling him “without a doubt, one of the major artists of Cuban urban music,” whose reach is global.
The reactions to the TikTok video have been swift. Some comments say: “It’s not a premonition, it’s called ‘Law of Attraction’; we attract what we think and say. Power of the mind. That’s why it’s so important to think and act positively.
God will save him, I decree it,” “I can’t stop thinking about it,” “I thought the same when I heard the song,” “It gives me goosebumps,” “When I saw the video, I was shocked,” and “Oh my God, it’s such a coincidence; everything aligns with what he is going through now. I just wish with all my heart that he doesn’t give up and that God gives him a new chance at life.”
