The action RPG’s first expansion adds an entire region to its open world, a new class, skill-altering rune items, and mercenary companions to fight by your side. Vessel of Hatred’s campaign will pick up where the original story left off. Neyrelle is on her way to the jungle region of Nahantu with a demon lord in her pocket. It’ll be your job to find her and figure out how to prevent Mephisto from crawling out of his crystalline prison. And once you’re finished with the campaign, there will be a whole new season with its own unique event, and several new types of dungeons to dip into for heaps of loot.
When is the Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred release time?

Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred will have a global release at 8:30 pm PDT on Monday, October 7 for PC players using Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher or Steam. For most of the other regions it’ll be October 8. Blizzard is based in California, so the release times are all centered around its own time zone. You can still pre-load the expansion before it’s out to save yourself the wait. Battle.net players will find the option to do so under Diablo 4 on the launcher and Steam users will need to download it from their library. Blizzard said there will be one more patch to get when the expansion goes live, but that it won’t be very big. Then, as soon as it goes live you can start playing the new campaign and then jump into the Season of Hatred Rising.
Last week, Blizzard confirmed Diablo 4 and Vessel of Hatred will be PS5 Pro Enhanced. Diablo 4 is the first Microsoft game with confirmed Enhanced support for Sony’s $700 mid-gen upgrade, which launches November 7.
Microsoft owns all Activision Blizzard’s franchises following its $69 billion acquisition of the company in 2023, and since then has added a number of the firm’s games to its subscription service, Game Pass. Diablo 4 is in Game Pass, although not in its Standard tier. Vessel of Hatred is not in Game Pass.

Pre-download is available on PC (Battle.net) and console. You will be able to pre-download the patch that contains Vessel of Hatred and Season 6 content regardless of whether you have purchased the Vessel of Hatred Expansion.

How do I preload Vessel of Hatred on Steam?
Unfotunately you cannot pre download Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred if you purchased through Steam. Steam users will be able to download the update when Vessel of Hatred goes live on October 7, at 4 p.m. PDT.

Currently if you want Vessel of Hatred on Xbox, it’s actually cheaper on CD Keys than via Microsoft. If you’re looking to get the game on PC for Battle.net or Steam though, it’s still full price which is $39.99 for the base edition.
